Design Miami 2008 Review

Design Miami is in its fourth year at Art Basel Miami Beach and has outgrown its previous venue at the historic Moore building and set up in an architect designed tent.
The new venue was a hit with galleries and visitors but the fantastic new setting couldn't help the fair buck the financial downturn, sales were slow but then, that was what everyone was expecting.

The Campana Brothers were the stars of the show while other highlights came courtesy of the main sponsor Swarovski Crystal who were showing a special work by artist Ross Lovegrove. The installation entitled 'Liquid Space' features polished aluminium tables and a chandelier of Swarovski crystals which appears to have melted through the ceiling and is shaped in a vortex.
